Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, 45, approached his ex-in-laws’ residence in Covina, California on Christmas Eve, during their annual Christmas party. Pardo knocked on the door and began shooting indiscriminately when he gained entry into the residence. He then continued firing randomly before setting the house on fire. He then changed into his regular clothing and went to his brother’s residence in nearby Sylmar, where he committed suicide.

On Saturday, investigators searched and removed evidence from the Orlando residence of George and Cindy Anthony, the grandparents of murder victim Caylee Anthony. According to CNN news reports, investigators served the couple a search warrant at 3 p.m. before searching their residence. This was the third search of the couple’s residence in the 10 days since the remains of a small child were found in nearby woods.

RIAA Will End Filesharing Lawsuits

Since 2003, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has filed more than 35,000 lawsuits against individuals who allegedly stole music online. But this week the industry announced a decision to stop pursuing lawsuits against filesharing violators. The RIAA will wind down currently pending litigation and attempt to develop a more effective means of controlling online piracy.

Sherry Johnston, to-be son-in-law of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, was arrested on Thursday, December 18 in Wasilla, Alaska for misconduct involving a controlled substance. Although authorities have retained details of the arrest, the Anchorage Daily News reports that the charges were in relation to the drug oxycontin.
